ACK ACK the Destroyer, evil warrior from the stars! Legend says ACK ACK fell from the sky. The only things we know for sure is that no one understands a single word he says, and his disposition is worse than a dragon with hemroids

Made by me! Sir Brundle ( The Fly sword and sorcery style )
After placing his trust in a bumbling wizard, and his poorly executed transportation spell, Sir Brundle has been left horribly deformed; and hungry for sweets. I finished guy Up the other day. I can't seem to get pictures that do him justice.

Made by me! Remco Warrior Beasts Anglor
I finished this guy up yesterday and Im extremely pleased with the finished results.
I tried to keep in the spirit of the origenal Remco Warrior Beasts and I think for the most part he fits in perfect.
Here are a few bonus pictures that I took that documents the creation of the head from beginning to end.
This is the origenal toy I used for the head unaltered.
here it is cut into a few pieces
This is Milliput 2 part epoxy clay.I I built an extension onto the head to taper out the shape and hold the fin.
This is the nearly finished paint job. The step between this and the final step really didn't photograph well because it was just a thin wash of nearly transparent pearlescent white.
and this is the completed head. I use a thin coat of Pledge future shine floor polish as my clear coat. I find it gives just the right amount of gloss to match that of vintage 1980's toys.

Super 7 retro style She-Ra
This was a gift from my best friend Alexis. This is a beautiful figure but there are a couple of problems. One is that they just couldn't manage to keep the new fangled joints out of the figure. They replaced the old rubber band legs with some modern looking joint and it feels fragile. The other issue is they have leg in a pre posed position making it very hard to get her to stand on her loose shaky leg joints.Other than the 2 leg issues (that are just issues to me and maybe not everybody) this is the perfect She-Ra figure I have been wanting since the 80's.

A couple completed projects .
These projects have been on my bench for a long time but finally the stars aligned and I was able to gets these guys done!
this next picture is my origenal photoshop mockup .The final figure changed slightly from my origenal concept.
this next picture is the prototype horn skull. This was made from a triceratops toy and soft cast of a remco skullman head. This was molded and cast in solid red for the final part used.
This last red demon picture is actually a few step ahead (I didn't take pictures of the skeleton body before it was painted but as you can tell from the head nub it was transparent ) this picture is right after I connected the wings. The wings are from a Ghostbusters toy I picked up at dollar tree. The wings are planted into a custom cut cavity in the back of the body and have a full range of articulation.
and now to Remco Deimos .I made a reproduction of his costume using the cover of a 3 ringed binder. The sword and shield are custom cast and painted.
this last shield goes to a figure Im going to show at a later date but I thought I would go ahead and show the custom reproduction shield I had made (painted by me)

Its February already?
As promised posts will start back ..well right now I guess. I cant believe how fast January went by. So this guy is a little project I've had in the works for a while. He isn't 100% done but mostly he is just missing some garnish. Ive been using the name "bitch slap" for this project for months but now I think his official name is Hando .

a quick 5.5 Alive update
Baltard is watching you sleep!
I just wanted to stop by and let everybody know that posts will return to 5.5 Alive in February (maybe the last couple of days of January but don't hold your breath)! Due in part to many reason (but mostly due to the ridiculous cost of medication these days ) I have slowed down on my spending and haven't had very much to show on this blog recently .Thats not to say I've stopped collecting but more that I've been saving what I have gotten for a later date. Rest easy my loyal fan base ,fancy new figures will be here soon enough! Edit I was emailed by a very upset person screaming at me that the use of the word "tard" is hurtful and derogatory .Thing is that is actually the above figures given name and I had no part in naming him.
as you can see on the packaged version thats his name.

Soma Fantasy World Nizard
Fantasy World from Soma is one of my absolute favorite lines from the 1980's. Nizard here was one of only two Fantasy World figures I had when I was a kid. I remember originally getting this guy just after Thanksgiving in 1983 .It was pouring down rain and cold , it was a very dark day almost like dusk all day long. I had earlier in the day cut a generous helping off of the end of my thumb (permanently warping the shape of my thumb) and had my thumb wrapped up in a huge amount a gauze and bandages making my thumb look like it belong to the hand of a cartoon character. It had been a not great day but then I was offered a chance to go to the grocery store with my mom. It was a small grocery store called Russells IGA market and most of the time when my parents would bring me along I would stay in the little machine at the front of the store that showed cartoons but this time my mom was only picking up a few things so no time for the cartoon machine on that trip. The first thing about this trip was I got to pick out my own carton of ice cream ( a very rare opportunity ) I chose a holiday flavor of peppermint.eggnog . As we went through the last isle ( the bread aisle) I saw this guy and one other arbitrarily hanging on a hook .I grabbed it and asked if I could get it. My mom took it from me and checked the price then she took the other figure off of the hook and put them both in the cart. Score! I opened them in the car and played with the against the window pretending the lights going by outside the car where magical powers being shot at my guys from the rainy mist. So I guess the moral of the story is , if you have an alcoholic mom who gets drunk at 8:30 am and lets you cut the end of your thumb off trying to slice cheese for a sandwich because no adult will feed you then you might end up with cool toys and gross ice cream at the end of the day!
I was able to snag this carded Nizard from Ebay the other day for an price less than what he sells for loose most of the time .The card was pretty beat so opening him wasn't so much of a crime.
